We are immigrants, daughters of immigrants, and fathers raising immigrant children. We are allies, neighbors, and co-signers. We believe in lifting as we climb and building big tents.

FOUNDER
Built by Immigrants is founded by Margarita Florez Vasconcelos and powered by a network of immigrant women, daughters of immigrants, abuelas, and allies.
Growing up, Margarita watched her parents arrive in San Francisco from Mexico City. As soon as they started to feel the ground beneath them, she started to see them lift others. They began helping their classmates from adult school to complete job applications and cosign their leases.
That instinct — to reach back and pull someone else forward — is what Built by Immigrants is built on.
